OUR STORY — 30 YEARS OF SUPPORT
The group was started in 1994 by Lesley Trenchard, a breast cancer patient herself, who knew how much it helped to talk to someone who had been through it. What began as hospital visits grew into a monthly support group at St Michael's Hospital, and in 2001 we became a registered charity. When Covid nearly brought the group to an end, Hayle Day Care Centre gave us a new home — and the warm welcome has never stopped.
WHAT WE DO
Come along and join us for a chat over a cuppa and see what we are all about.
SOCIAL EVENTS
Outings, meals, BBQs and trips away — friendship well beyond the meeting room.
GUEST SPEAKERS
Talks from breast care nurses and visiting speakers, sharing knowledge and reassurance.
DEMONSTRATIONS
Practical sessions and demonstrations to help on every step of the journey.
The group is free to attend, and on-site parking is free and easy to access.
COME AND JOIN US
The group is free to attend — just bring a simple raffle prize (eg biscuits or chocolate). Raffle tickets are £1 a strip and refreshments are 50p.
Everyone welcome — there is always a warm welcome waiting.

A MEMBER'S STORY
“I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative age 47. After full mastectomy, 20+ lymph nodes removed, high dose chemo (FEC and Taxotere) and 5 weeks of daily radiotherapy I am still here 20 years and counting. It hurt but I took pain killers and forced myself to do all the arm exercises and am fortunate to have minimal problems with lymphoedema.”
